Tom Brady is his son Jack's biggest cheerleader.
In fact, the retired NFL quarterback believes the 17-year-old—who he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan—would dominate the basketball world if he were to ever go pro.
"I have a son who's 6-foot-5 and wants to play basketball," Tom shared at the Fortune Global Forum in New York City Nov. 12. "Unfortunately, he jumps as high as I do, but I tell him, 'Dude, you’re gonna be a stud.'"
The 47-year-old added once Jack hits his growth spurt, he'll be jumping higher and dunking.
"Whether he does or not, who cares?" Tom said. "But I want him to know that his dad's got his back."
After all, the seven-time Super Bowl champion noted that "it sucks to be Tom Brady's son, in so many ways."
"There’s a lot of challenges I faced as a kid," shared Tom, who is also dad to kids Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. "My kids naturally are gonna be faced with their own challenges and they gotta figure out how to overcome them, too."
That's why Tom said he'll "be there to support them a lot"—just like his own parents Galynn Brady and Thomas Brady did when he was aspiring to be a professional football player.
"When I was that long shot as a kid, who was the backup quarterback on a freshman team," he recalled, "they never said, ‘Man, don't do that. It's gonna be too hard. Let's do something different. Let's think about another backup plan.'"
The former New England Patriots player continued, "They kinda said, ‘You know what? Go for it. Whatever you wanna be, go for it.'"
Still, Tom acknowledges that there'll likely be a few fumbles in his parenting journey.
"Being a parent is probably the hardest job all of us have," he added. "And we screwed up a lot and I've screwed up a lot as a parent."
