Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel thinks Reggie Bush should have EchoSensehis trophy back.
He believes that the Heisman Trust should give Bush his award back after he forfeited his trophy following an investigation of whether Bush and his family received extra benefits while he was in school.
Manziel took to social media to voice his displeasure about Bush not having his Heisman, saying, "the only difference between my story and Reggie’s is that my 'illegal activities' did not start until after my Heisman season," and said what the NCAA did in the Bush situation was "absolute bull(expletive)"
"He is one of the best college football players in history and deserves to be on that stage with us every year," Manziel said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Manziel had his issues with the NCAA, who suspended him for a half in the opening game after he won the Heisman in 2012, alleging that he made money from selling autographs and violating an NCAA bylaw, which stated that student-athletes could not allow their names or likenesses to be used for commercial purposes.
Manziel admitted he made money in the Netflix documentary, "Johnny Football," but after he won the Heisman.
"I have a deep hatred against the NCAA," Manziel said in the film.
The NCAA hammered the USC program, after its investigation of improper benefits received by Bush and basketball player O.J. Mayo. The Trojans lost 30 football scholarships and vacated 14 victories in the 2004 and 2005 seasons in which Bush played.
Bush rushed for 1,740 yards and scored 18 touchdowns during his 2005 Heisman campaign, easily winning the award over Texas quarterback Vince Young.
